We are pleased to announce that this week we secured planning approval for Spring Tree House, a new infill dwelling nestled in the heart of the Oxfordshire village of Sonning Common.

Situated in the rear garden of a larger corner plot, the Spring Tree House project is more than just a new addition to the village—it's a thoughtful continuation of the existing streetscape. With a focus on seamless integration, we thoughtfully crafted a 3-bedroom family dwelling that complements the character of the neighbourhood while offering a home with modern comfort and functionality for our clients.
One of the key considerations in the design process was ensuring that the Spring Tree House harmonized with its surroundings. By carefully considering siting, massing, and scale, we aimed to respect the neighbouring properties and maintain the existing outlook and setting of the host dwelling. The result is a residence that seamlessly blends into the fabric of the village, enhancing its charm and character.

Drawing inspiration from the surrounding architectural styles, characterised by red/orange brick and render under clay tiled pitch roofs, our design incorporates traditional elements with a contemporary twist. The clean, simple forms of the building are accentuated by metal-clad flat roof bay windows and dormers, adding a touch of modernity to the timeless aesthetic.

Beyond its architectural significance, the Spring Tree House project holds personal significance for the retired owner of the host dwelling. With plans to downsize, the approval of this new infill dwelling brings added value to the property, paving the way for future endeavours and ensuring a smooth transition to the next chapter of homeownership.
