The Stableyard Evolution:

Overcoming Challenges and Enhancing Designs

Maximising Space and Modernising Aesthetics

We are thrilled to announce that we have just secured planning consent for our Section 73 application, bringing some fantastic enhancements to our original design for THE STABLEYARD! This marks a significant milestone in our journey to transform this unique space, and we couldn't be more excited to share the details with you.

One of the key changes approved in our application is the expansion of the building envelopes. This allows us to maximise the floor areas of the buildings, providing more spacious and comfortable living areas for future residents. In addition to the increased space, we have refined the design aesthetics to offer an even more modern touch.

Among the exciting changes is the addition of a rear gable to one of the plots. This feature not only adds architectural interest but also enhances the overall visual appeal of the building. Furthermore, we have meticulously reconfigured the window openings to capture the stunning views of the surrounding fields and paddocks – a true blend of tranquility and modern living.

Harmonising with Towersey’s Village Character

Our vision for THE STABLEYARD continues to evolve beautifully. These changes are not just about enhancing practicality and aesthetic appeal; they are also about ensuring that our design remains in perfect harmony with the charming character of Towersey village. We are committed to preserving the essence of this picturesque location while introducing contemporary elements that complement its traditional charm.

Overcoming Planning Challenges

Our journey to secure planning consent was not without its challenges. The proposal initially faced objections from the Parish, primarily concerned with potential impacts on scale, privacy, overlooking, and shading. These concerns were valid and required us to provide detailed information to demonstrate that the changes would not pose a greater negative impact.

Through a series of detailed studies and presentations, we were able to show that our enhancements were thoughtfully designed to minimise any adverse effects. Our commitment to transparency and collaboration with the local authority was crucial in this process.

Ultimately, the additional information and assurances we provided gained the approval of the committee. It was a significant achievement to demonstrate that our changes not only preserved but enhanced the quality and character of the area, leading to the successful approval of our application.

Collaboration and Craftsmanship

We are currently working closely with our amazing clients Chalix, and interior designer Cecilia Halling Howells Interiors, to bring these distinctive dwellings to life. Their expertise and dedication are invaluable as we blend tradition and contemporary design in the heart of Towersey. Together, we are creating homes that are not only beautiful but also thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of modern living.
